Well the wet season has just been plodding along with below average rain fall until the last week.
The prayers, rain dances, and strange rain rituals of keen Barramundi fishers from around the Northern Territory, Australia & the world have not been in vein.Â
We wanted rain and we have certainly got it.
The catchments of the Mary, South & East Alligator Rivers have copped a heap of rain in the last week with the last couple of days producing rainfall that locals haven’t seen for some time. All these three rivers are now in full flood again and with more rain likely over the next week we are now pretty much guaranteed good run off in these locations through until mid to late May. The Daly catchment has missed out on a bit of this rain but with the monsoon trough still active and a low pressure system tipped to head west over the next week the Daly should get its share also.
For those of you in the southern parts of Australia still experiencing drought you may wish to give the table below a miss.Â
